A new opioid prescribing education course for Tennessee prescribers — funded by a grant from Tennessee’s Opioid Abatement Council and developed by a task force that included the Tennessee Medical Foundation — is now available from the Tennessee Foundation for Quality Patient Healthcare (TFQPH), a nonprofit of the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA). The course is being offered at no charge to Tennessee prescribers through June 30, 2027.
“Know More/No More” is a two-hour virtual course designed for all prescribers in Tennessee, including APRNs, DOs, MDs, and PAs. The content addresses real-world clinical challenges with practical, evidence-based solutions, and equips providers with the tools and resources needed to improve patient outcomes. The offering will meet Tennessee’s licensure boards’ two-hour prescribing requirement in addition to covering the Tennessee Chronic Pain Guidelines.

TMF Medical Director Dr. Michael Baron was part of a 17-member task force assembled by the TFQPH to create the new course. The panel brought together experts from critical areas: clinicians across multiple medical specialties, including physicians and PAs; pharmacy; behavioral health and recovery support; and law enforcement and public health.
